They are the steady presence at the bedside, the calm voice in difficult moments, and the compassionate guide for patients and families navigating the end of life. Their work goes far beyond clinical care—it is rooted in connection, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to being there when it matters most.
This Nurses Week, we celebrate the incredible individuals who bring that care to life each and every day.
Celebrating Our Nurses
Throughout the week, we’ve had the joy of celebrating our nurses with special lunches, outings, and moments of connection—small tokens of appreciation for the incredible work they do every day.
We’re excited to share a glimpse of those celebrations in the photo gallery below. These moments reflect just a fraction of the joy, teamwork, and heart our nurses bring to Alive.
Compassion in Action
The care our nurses provide is often quiet, deeply personal, and profoundly impactful. It’s found in the small moments—holding a hand, offering reassurance, creating comfort, and making space for families to simply be together.
And when circumstances become especially challenging, that same compassion only grows stronger.
Going Above and Beyond
During January’s winter storm, when conditions were difficult and many were unable to travel, our nurses continued to show up in extraordinary ways—demonstrating the depth of their dedication and the strength of their calling. The following is only a small sample of how our nurses show up.
Mary stepped in to support a young man caring for his grandfather—staying through the night, offering comfort, and giving him the gift of rest during an overwhelming time.
Bonnie worked overnight shifts during the height of the storm, even without power at home, continuing to provide care for her patients without hesitation.
Lynn braved snow and ice to visit a patient in transition, offering critical support to both the patient and a young caregiver navigating an incredibly difficult moment.
Rebecca spent multiple nights away from home, ensuring patients received uninterrupted care while supporting her team as charge nurse.
Seth did the same—providing total patient care, stepping into leadership, and even helping transport team members so they could safely get to work.
Jeanmarie, Kaylee, Zoe, Jocelyn, Anne, and SO MANY more all made personal sacrifices—staying overnight or for several days—to ensure their patients were cared for and their teams were supported.
A Reflection of Who They Are Every Day
While these moments during the storm were extraordinary, they are not the exception—they are a reflection of who our nurses are every day.
Their willingness to go above and beyond, to put others first, and to show up with compassion and resilience is what defines the care we provide at Alive.
There are far too many individuals to name, and countless acts of care that go unseen—but each one matters deeply.
