4th Annual Big Band Christmas Show at Third and Lindsley - Tickets Available Online Now
Jazz singer and composer Annie Sellick is raising funds for Alive hospice patients at her 4th annual Annie & the Big Band Christmas Show at Third and Lindsley on December 18. This event usually sells out!
Annie and her 18-piece orchestra jazz up seasonal classics in a Big Band style Christmas show that truly swings! The hugely talented ensemble has previously featured soloists Pat Bergeson on guitar, Roy Agee on trombone, and saxophonists Don Aliquo and Rahsaan Barber.
Since her early days charming crowds in the Southeast with her engaging stage presence, rhythmic play, and story-telling, Annie Sellick has sung with jazz trios and big bands around the world, not to mention working with some of her musical heroes, including Tommy Emmanuel, Bela Fleck, Mark O’Connor, and Joey DeFrancesco.
She has been voted Best Jazz Artist by readers of the Nashville Scene several years in a row. A native Nashvillian, she volunteers at Alive’s Nashville residence, bringing companionship and support to patients and their families.
The only nonprofit hospice in Middle Tennessee, Alive provides nearly 1.5 million dollars in charity care each year, so no one in our community has to die alone. All proceeds from the show go to support its services, including financial aid for patients and families, grief support, and free education for the community on end-of-life care and planning.
“The Big Band Christmas is a holiday event like no other! Annie and her ensemble are incredibly talented and bring such a joyful energy to this show every year. It’s a truly great celebration of the music and the season,” said Joseph K. Hampe, COO and interim President/CEO of Alive.
The show will feature favorites like “Winter Wonderland,” “The Christmas Waltz,” “Let it Snow,” and “The Christmas Song.” She also features big band embellishments on original songs from her Christmas album, “Let’s Make a Christmas Memory” and “To Those Who Believe.”
