Hit Songwriters and The Bluebird Cafe Team Up to Support Alive

Alive & The Bluebird Concert Series Returns in January 2025

Alive’s most anticipated annual fundraiser returns this January with the Alive & The Bluebird Concert Series, featuring hit singer-songwriters performing at the iconic Bluebird Cafe. While the full 2025 lineup is yet to be announced, we’re thrilled to welcome Suzy Boggus, Doug Crider, Kathy Mattea, Jon Vezner, Walker Hayes, Johnny Clawson, Emily Falvey, Josh Jenkins, David Nail, Scooter Carusoe, Lee Thomas Miller, Randy Montana, Brett Young, Ashley Gorley, Jon Nite, and Jimmy Robbins to the stage! The full lineup will be announced through the calendar on The Bluebird Cafe website.

As Middle Tennessee’s only nonprofit hospice, Alive provides nearly $1.5 million in charity care annually, ensuring that no one in the community has to face the end of life alone. These efforts are guided by Alive’s mission to provide loving care for people with life-threatening illnesses, support to their families, and service to the community in a spirit of enriching lives. Proceeds from the Alive & The Bluebird series are vital in supporting Alive’s community services, which include grief support, financial assistance for patients, family and professional education, and grief camps for children.

This year is especially significant, as Alive celebrates 50 years of serving Middle Tennessee. Founded in 1975 as the region’s first hospice, Alive has been a pioneer in providing compassionate care and innovative services to support individuals and families at the end of life.

“Over the years, the songwriters who call The Bluebird home generously donate their time and talents to supporting Alive with this series of magical performances in January,” said The Bluebird Cafe’s COO and General Manager Erika Wollam-Nichols. “Many of our Bluebird songwriters, along with their friends and families, have been cared for by Alive and we’re grateful for the chance to participate and give back with this annual fundraiser.”

Alive also brings the spirit of The Bluebird to other parts of Middle Tennessee with additional events throughout the year. For those unable to attend, donations to support Alive’s mission can be made online at alivehospice.org/give.

“We are profoundly thankful for the partnership with The Bluebird Cafe and the incredible generosity of the songwriters who make this series possible,” said Kerry Hamilton, President and CEO of Alive. “Their talents bring our community together, helping to ensure that no one has to face the end of life or grief alone. This event is a celebration of music, compassion, and the spirit of Nashville.”

Original Artwork for Auction

This year’s art, Wings of Compassion, was created by Alive’s Creative and Brand Manager, Christine Stiles, and symbolizes the transformative power of music and the enduring love represented by butterflies. Butterflies, often seen as a symbol of renewal and the continuation of life, hold a special place at Alive through Alive’s annual butterfly memorial release. The guitar with butterfly wings reflects the music community’s unwavering support of Alive and the ability of music to provide comfort, joy, and healing even in life’s hardest moments.

“Music has the power to touch our hearts and uplift our spirits, just as butterflies remind us of life’s beauty and transformation,” said Christine Stiles.

This artwork will be available for auction, with proceeds supporting Alive’s mission to provide compassionate end-of-life care and grief support.
